Surviving Your First 6 Weeks

What every new parent needs to know…

I'm so excited cause I just launched my survival guide for new and expecting parents - Surviving the First 6 Weeks! I put this guide together for you because becoming a parent can feel overwhelming and can lead to feeling like you're just not sure what to do. … And googling things will give you all sorts of different (and crazy) answers leaving you feeling even more confused. Trust me... I've been there, so I feel your pain.

So, what’s the Survival Guide all about?

Well, it’s all about answering some of the main concerns you have when you bring your little one home. From safety to newborn sleep to development to YOU!!

Yes YOU.

Your well-being when you’re sleep deprived can really take a toll. Mine did too. It wasn't until I took a course on Postpartum Depression + Anxiety that I realized in hindsight I needed help. A LOT more help. Instead, I suffered in silence because I thought I was supposed to be feeling the way I did. I was just going through the motions.

And I still tear up today when I think about.

Don’t get me wrong, I still loved my baby and cared for him deeply (which is not always the case either)… but little did I know that I had several risk factors for PPD including: family history of depression, moving across the country, low social support, and life stressors (finishing my dissertation). So, in this guide I outline some of the basics of PPD and PPA so you know what to look out for. The more you know, the better - knowledge is power.

I also talk about the number ONE safety tip for your newborn and outline several DOs and DONTs for safe sleep according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Then of course the all important impending topic of… newborn sleep! In my survival guide, I lay out some guidelines for you around naps and when developmentally you can start putting some routines in place that will help you and your baby get into a good rhythm so things feel a little less unpredictable.

And lastly, I added in a little developmental tip about your little one’s crying. Yep… all the crying! I remember feeling like I had to jump at every little peep because if he cried he needed me (or my boob for that matter).

So, whatcha waiting for… you can download your free Survival Guide here. I’m curious what more you want to hear about and learn about that I can add to this guide or share with you! So, let me know!
